These crispy and crunchy Shrimp Balls are popular and delicious Chinese appetizer. Chef John uses finely diced bread to make extra airy and crunchy crust. Give it a try!

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb Shrimps, Peeled And Deveined
  • 10 oz Sliced White Bread
  • 1 count Egg White
  • 0.5 tsp Salt Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp White Pepper To Taste
  • 10 oz Butter, Cut Into Small Cubic Pieces
  • 0.5 cup Shaoxing Cooking Wine
  • 3 stalk Green Onion, cut in 1 inch long pieces
  • 10 pieces Ginger

Cut crust of bread off.

Cut bread into small pieces(as shown in the video).

Combine green onion, ginger and shaoxing cooking wine in a bowl, mix well for seasoning later.

Mince shrimps.

In a large bowl, combine minced shrimp, salt, sugar, white pepper, egg white and the seasoning mixture, mix well.

Shape shrimp mixture into ball and insert a small pieces butter in center of shrimp ball,
