In 2009, I won the Huaiyang Cuisine Gold Award at NTD's International Chinese Culinary Competition in New York City.

I’ll Show You How to Cook the Most Popular, Delicious and Easiest Chinese Dishes

When choosing which Chinese dishes to include in this course, I wanted them to meet a certain criteria. Each dish had to be representative of authentic Chinese cuisine, extremely popular, easy-to-master, and can be prepared in your own home kitchen. The 8 classic Chinese dishes that I’ve selected create a wonderful balance between meat and vegetables. They include 2 seafood dishes, 4 meat dishes, 2 vegetarian dishes, and 2 bonus dishes to be unlocked, each of which has their own distinct cooking characteristics. For the 2 special vegetarian dishes, their main ingredients are cucumber, bok choy, and mushroom. I’ll show you a nifty knife technique to demonstrate the amazing versatility of cucumbers.

We will cover the most practical cooking techniques such as stir-frying, roasting, steaming, frying, wet-frying, deep frying, pan grilling, and more. I’ll also share with you many of my most coveted culinary “secrets,” including my deep-frying technique to ensure that shrimp has the best taste with crispy skin and very tender meat. No Special Equipment or Hard-to-Find Ingredients Required

Preparing authentic Chinese food need not be complicated or high end for the average cook. No wok or restaurant-style pro burner? No problem! While a Chinese wok is traditionally used for Chinese food, you can still make restaurant-quality dishes in a frying pan on your stovetop. For the most part, we will be using the most common seasonings found in your kitchen that make preparation simple, fun and hassle-free. Of course, we will also use some unique seasonings in Chinese cuisine, such as cooking wine and oyster sauce. They’re easy to find in a regular grocery store or a Chinese supermarket. You can also find them online.

You’ll Master the Most Common Chinese Cooking Techniques

My course will give you a basic understanding of Chinese cooking, including knife techniques, various cooking styles, proper cookware, and the most commonly used condiments. I’ll teach you how Chinese food magically combines these condiments to create the exquisite flavors you love, as well as the reasoning behind each choice so you can reach a new level of control over taste.

I’ll also show you how to choose and combine wonderful ingredients, and which preparation and cooking methods to use for enhancing their properties – such as how to ensure that beef is juicy and tender, how to remove the fishy smell of shrimp, which type of pork belly to use for crispy roast pork, and other “insider” culinary knowledge.
