I find that living in the countryside isolates you from the world in a good way. You can have friendly neighbours and people around yet there is always more space to breath. In the countryside I have found people more willing to stop and chat whereas in the city everyone seems to be rushing around. That’s just been my experience since living in both the city and now the countryside. In the last few years I have slowed down. I use to go a hundred miles an hour in the city, nearly pushing people out of the way to get to where I was going. My day was only a success if I packed in as much as I could in every hour. In the countryside you can pop into your neighbour for a cuppa. People still leave their doors open here. The trust is higher and the feeling of togetherness is strong.
