Hot sizzling shrimps with the sweet aroma of caramelized garlic and sherry, are but a flash in the pan. The toasted baguette will soak up the delicious juices. It doesn't get more sophisticated as this. Traditionally tapas foods started out and became forever growing in popularity in the world of Spain!, as a bar snack to have with your drinks. The Spanish garlic shrimp dish is ideal as a tapas food because tapas is usually the idea of small food served in bars that didn't sit around too long. Fresh food hot or cold served quickly and eaten right away keeps the flies away.
Heat a grill pan to medium-hot heat with 1 tbsp olive oil. Place the thinly sliced baguette pieces and sprinkle salt, pepper, and 1 tbsp olive oil and allow toast lightly on both sides.
Take off the toasted bread and rub a fresh garlic clove gently over each slice.
In a hot skillet add a little oil, sliced garlic, chili flakes, bay leaf, sherry, and shrimps. Saute the shrimps on both sides for 2-3 minutes add the paprika and salt and pepper squeeze some fresh lemon juice, and garnish with chopped parsley.
Transfer the shrimp to a warm tapas-style pot (alternatively you can serve from the pan ) and place over some of the sauce garnish with more herbs if you like. Serve with a side of the garlic baguette.
