Ingredients:
  • 10 oz Chicken Leg Meat, Boneless, Skinless
  • 0.25 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Rice Wine [Seasonings]
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce [Seasonings]
  • 1 oz Sugar [Seasonings]
  • 1 tbsp White Vinegar [Seasonings]
  • 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce [Seasonings]
  • 0.25 cup Honey [Seasonings]
  • 0.25 tsp White Pepper
  • 0.5 cup Dried Chilies [Seasonings]
  • 1 tbsp Rice Wine [Marinade]
  • 0.25 tsp Salt [Marinade]
  • 1 large Egg [Marinade]
  • 0.25 tbsp Corn Starch [Marinade]
  • 1 tbsp All-purpose Flour [Marinade]
  • 1 tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch Water (2 Tbsp Cornstarch Mixed With 1 Tbsp Water)
  • 1 tsp White Sesame
  • 0.5 tsp Minced Green Onion

In a medium bowl, combine water, soy sauce, sugar, white vinegar, honey, oyster sauce, yellow cooking wine, and a couple of dried chilis. Stir to mix completely and set aside.

Using the knife’s heel pounding on thick parts of the meat a couple of times to tenderize it. Then cut the chicken into pieces.

In a mixing bowl, combine chicken pieces with yellow cooking wine, salt, egg, starch, and all-purpose flour.

Toss to coat the chicken pieces evenly. Set aside.

In a wok over high heat, bring enough cooking oil to 300°F / 150°C; add the chicken to the oil one at a time; carefully stir and separate the pieces; deep-fry until golden. Remove from oil and drain.

Return the wok to heat, add fried chicken pieces, minced garlic, and prepared General Tso’s sauce. Stir to mix well.

Then add a couple of cornstarch water slurry to thicken the sauce until all chicken pieces evenly coated with the thickened sauce.

Sprinkle some white sesame seed on top. Enjoy!
