4 SERVING
Ingredients:
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Sugar
  • 2 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp. Cooking oil
Directions:
1
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and sugar. Gradually add the 2 cups of water while stirring continuously to form a smooth batter. If the batter is too thick, slowly add more water until it reaches a pourable, pancake-like consistency.
2
Drizzle 1 tablespoon of cooking oil into the batter and whisk it in thoroughly. This will help create a tender texture in the flatbread and prevent it from sticking to the pan.
3
Place a non-stick frying pan on the stove and set the heat to medium-low. Lightly coat the surface of the pan with a bit of cooking oil to ensure the flatbread does not stick.
4
Pour or scoop the batter onto the hot pan, forming a round, pancake shape. Use the back of a ladle or spoon to spread the batter evenly if needed.
5
Allow the flatbread to cook until the edges start to lift from the pan and the bottom is golden brown. Use a spatula to frequently press down the edges of the flatbread, encouraging it to puff up and cook evenly.
6
Flip the flatbread and cook the other side until it is also golden brown and puffed. The frequent turning ensures even cooking and a soft interior.
7
Once cooked, transfer the flatbread to a plate and cover with a clean kitchen towel or sheet to keep warm. The steam trapped will help keep the flatbread soft. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, adding more oil to the pan as necessary. Serve the warm flatbreads immediately.
