Prawn salad is a great go-to dish if you are on a diet but still crave food that is satisfying and refreshing. The heat from the chilis also adds a kick of flavor. The citrusy seasoning harmonizes with the tenderness of the prawn and makes for a light meal or snack.

Ingredients:
  • 10 count Banana prawns (30g each)
  • To taste Salt
  • 30 g Sliced shallots
  • 1 count Tomato
  • 2.5 tsp. Celery
  • 2 tbsp. Sliced chili
  • 2 tbsp. Fish sauce
  • 2.5 tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 count Lime (juice)

Bring water to boil, add a pinch of salt. Gently add the banana prawns and boil them for about 1 minute. (Do not stir)

Banana prawns are now soft and tender, take them out and put them into a bowl.

Cut tomatoes into small pieces, mince celery leaves, then add them to the bowl. then cut chilies and shallots.

Add fish sauce, sugar, lime juice, shallots, chilies and gently mix well.

Serve in small salad bowls and garnish with some celery.

If you’re looking for a vegan option, try using cubes of pan-fried tofu instead of prawns, it’s equally delicious and easy to make.
