Have you ever tried the Beignets? They are easy-made French squared donuts fried to a golden brown. Beignets are soft, vanilla-scented, and crispy at the same time. Try and enjoy at home the New Orleans style beignets that could be served with powdered sugar, jam, whipped cream, or hot chocolate.

Ingredients:
  • 1/3 Cup Hot water (30 ℃)
  • 1/4 Cup Milk
  • 0.1 Oz. Dry yeast
  • 0.8 Oz. Cane sugar
  • 1 Large Whole egg
  • Vanilla beans 2㎝
  • 2.6 Oz. Bread flour
  • 2.6 Oz. Cake flour
  • A pinch of Salt
  • 0.9 Oz. Unsalted butter
Directions:

Mix the ingredients into a bowl.

Put the dough in a mixer and knead for about 5 minutes.

Add unsalted butter and knead for another 5 minutes.

Ferment the dough until it is about twice as large.

Put it out on a floured table and stretch it to a thickness of about 3 mm. Use a kitchen knife to cut into pieces of about 5 x 5 cm.

Fry the dough in vegetable oil heated to 356 °F/180 °C. Turn it over as soon as you put it in the oil and fry it every few seconds, turning it over and over.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy!
