Pork belly is becoming increasingly popular and this recipe will show you how to incorporate this fatty meat into a delicious dish. Though the meat has a lot of fat, it is not at all greasy and is balanced with juicy tofu skins that make the entire dish satisfying to make and eat.

Ingredients:
  • 2 lb. Pork Belly
  • 1.5 cup Shaoxing Huadiao Rice Wine
  • 0.5 cup Light Soy Sauce
  • 0.5 cup Rock Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Dark Soy Sauce
  • 4 counts Star Anise
  • 15 Tofu Skin Knot

Cut the pork belly into cubes.

Cut the tofu skin into strips,10 inches in length, and 8 inches in width.

Pick a strip. Hold the ends of the strip with your two hands, roll it up then tie into a knot.

Just be careful when trying them into knots. You may break it if you tie them too hard.

Pan fry the cubed pork belly over light heat for 3-5 mins until meat turns golden brown. Remember to stir constantly to make sure the meat is cooked evenly. There is no need to rush. This way, the pan-fried pork belly is tasty but not greasy

Pour Shaoxing Huadiao Rice Wine, light soy sauce, and rock sugar into the pan. Then add dark soy sauce, star anise.

Simmer over a low heat for 1 hour
