The delectable Ahi tuna steak is quickly seared creating a caramelized crust on the outside and a rich medium rare color inside. the classic Japanese-inspired flavors set the balance in the sesame soy crunchy green bean salad and the avocado cilantro salsa. The tuna will take a prize position on your plate served up easily in your own home.

Ingredients:
  • Sauce
  • 2 tbsp. Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. Sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp. Rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp. Mayple syrup
  • 2 tbsp. Ginger, minced
  • Asian avocado salsa
  • 12 cup Cilantro, chopped
  • 2 ea. Green onions
  • 4 small Lime juice
  • 2 small Lime zest
  • 3 tbsp. Orange juice
  • 1/3 cup Soy sauce
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. Sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp. Honey
  • 2 cup Green beans, finely diced
  • 1/2 ea. Avocado, finely diced
  • 1/2 ea. Jalapeno, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp. Ginger, minced
  • Vegetable
  • 1 qt. Boiling water
  • 1 handfull Whole green beans (top and tailed)
  • 1/2 cup Red cabbage, finely shredded
  • 2 large Carrots, julienne
  • Icewater
  • Tuna
  • 2 tbsp. Oil
  • 23 oz each Ahi tuna steak
  • Pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste

Start by making our sesame ginger dressing in a mason jar or a bowl to combine. In our jar add sesame oil, olive oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, maple syrup, ginger, and salt and pepper. Shake for 20 seconds or until dressing is completely combined.

Get a small pot of water boiling to blanch green beans and carrots. We will start with green beans and cook for 1-2 minutes until tender. Transfer to an ice bath(water+ice) to stop the beans from cooking. Repeat this process with julienned carrots until tender and transfer into the same water bath with green beans. Jullien our red cabbage and mix in our carrots and green beans to be dressed with ginger dressing before serving.

In a mixing bowl add cilantro, green onion, lime juice, lime zest, orange juice, soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil, honey, green beans, avocado, jalapeno, and ginger. Mix well and place into refrigerator until we cook our Ahi.

Salt and pepper on both sides of our Ahi Tuna. In a cast-iron pan start heating up some sesame oil to sear, we are going to sear each side for 1 minute each depending on how thick our Tuna pieces are.

On your plate pour some of our Asian avocado salsa on the bottom. Take our thinly sliced Ahi Tuna on top and another scoop of our salsa on top. Mix our veggie salad with our sesame ginger dressing
