  • For the Sauce
  • 2 tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 3 Bay Leaves
  • 2 sprigs Oregano
  • 1 lb. Ground Beef
  • 2 tbsp. Butter
  • 0.25 cup Red Wine
  • 0.5 tsp. Salt
  • 0.25 tsp. Black Pepper
  • 2 tbsp. Tomato Paste
  • 2 Diced Tomatoes
  • 1.5 cup Tomato Sauce
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 1 tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Paprika
  • 0.25 tsp. Cinnamon Powder
  • For the Spaghetti
  • 0.25 tsp. Salt
  • 4 oz. Spaghetti
  • Garnish
  • 2 Basil leaves
  • 2 tsp. Parmesan, freshly grated

Start by adding oil to a medium high heated pan, saute the onions and garlic for a few minutes, until opaque then add bay leaves and oregano leaves.

Add the ground beef and stir continuously until the beef grains are separate and colour changed.

Add all the other ingredients and stir well, then simmer gently for at least 20 minutes the slower you cook it at this stage the more tender and flavoursome your spag bol will be.

Add uncooked spaghetti to a pot of salted boiling water for approx 5- 8 minutes to produce a tender bite to your pasta.

Serve with prepared sauce, a sprinkle of freshly grated parmesan and fresh basil.
