Shrimp and Chicken Lo Mein

Lo mein is perhaps one of the most famous Chinese noodles in the Western world. These stir-fried noodles are staple menu items in many Chinese restaurants, and the best part is, it’s actually not hard to make at all! Here’s our recipe for making the perfect lo mein every time.

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. Lo mein
  • 8 oz. Chicken breast
  • 3 tbsp. Soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp. Cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup Egg whites
  • 9 Shrimps
  • 1/4 cup Shred Ginger
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Scallion
  • 1/3 cup Shred Carrot
  • 1/2 cup Shred Bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup Shred Cabbage
  • 2 tbsp. Oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp. Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. Sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp. Cooking oil
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Pepper

In a large pot, add Lo mein in the boiling water. Cook for a few minutes. Drain it and transfer to soak in ice water. Set aside.

Meanwhile, in a large bowl, put in sliced chicken breast, whisk in soy sauce, egg white and flour. Seasoning with salt and pepper. Mix well. Set aside.

Heat up a large pan with medium-high heat, add cooking oil, shrimps and stir-fry for a while. Transfer to a plate. Set aside.

In the same pan, add sliced ginger, chopped scallion and chicken mixture. Pan-fry for a while until the chicken turns brown. Add sliced carrot, bell peppers, cabbage and shrimps. Place the cooked Lo mien in the pan. Stir-fry well.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk in oyster sauce, soy sauce and sesame oil. Seasoning with salt and pepper. Mix well. Pour the sauce in the pan. Pan fry until the noodles cook well.
