A perfect Friday night recipe for friends or family. This recipe is a perfect mixture of texture and spiciness on a Korean level. Gochujang paste is a mixture of gochu-garu, cooked glutinous rice, meju powder, and salt. It is then fermented to have a sweet yet spicy flavor that blends well with any pork dish.

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 lb. Pork belly
  • 1 tbsp. Ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp. Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp. Light soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp. Korea soju
  • 1 tsp. Sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp. Ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup Gochujang
  • 1/4 cup Cooking oil
  • 1/2 Large Onion
  • Tiger chili
  • White sesame seeds
Directions:

Combine pork slices, minced ginger, garlic, soy sauce, soju, sesame oil, ground black pepper, and gochujang paste in a bowl. Mix well until the pork slices are coated well with the spices. Let it sit for 5 minutes to marinate.

Pour the oil into a heated skillet over medium heat.

Place and cook the marinated pork for 8 minutes while stirring constantly.

Stir in onion slices and mix well for another 2 minutes. Remove the pork and the onions from the heat; transfer to a plate.

Meanwhile, heat a stovetop cast iron griller for 5 minutes on high heat.

Remove from the heat and transfer to a wooden pad.

Add in the cooked pork slices and top with green onion slices.

Serve immediately.
